Stephan Jacobs understands how to make people dance! It takes great songs and the skill to take the audience on an exciting journey through body moving music!
Equally talented as a multi-genre producer (Uptempo Dubstep / West Coast Crunk / Glitch House) and as a massive crowd rocker, Stephan has appeared at some of the world’s most prominent music festivals (Coachella) alongside a slew of genre defining artists. He has also released a strong collection of original material and remixes!
When he’s not forging a personal stake hold in the electronic dance music community, he also works on the collaborative project Kether, pushing his list of accomplishments into the forefront of the industry.
In 2006, Stephan Jacobs and Tim Hauser (Ruff Hauser) teamed up to form Kether. Their mutual passions for music fueled their ambitions to build a unique live experience that has beckoned enthusiastic followers after the first listen. They quickly established their place on the forefront of the West Coast Electronic scene, playing alongside Shpongle, Tipper and Glitch Mob. Getting signed with Muti Music, the leading North American Electronic music label, was the logical next step. Watch out for the dopest duo and Stephan on his own as he is steadily in the studio creating new music.
Currently Stephan is focused on producing more original music and performing live as much as possible. With over a dozen bookings so far this year, and a returning gig at Coachella, Stephan is focused on performing all around America including the major summer festivals.
Whether it’s that perfect sunrise at a beach or a desert party or in the depths of a dark urban winter in a dingy club, the euphoric sounds of the Headtron roster bring a certain bliss only obtained though fine crafting of sound and a great deal of musicality. The melodically driven music behind tough urban beats brings thoughts of Jazz, Chillout Music, IDM, Hip Hop and R & B all coming together for a morning of cocktails and a jam session and the result is a magical blend of all.
Headtron is a boutique music company founded in 2010 by Alex Becket in Los Angeles California, comprised of music producers, musicians, visual artists, videographers, designers, builders, and more. They strive to create next level electronic music made by original artists. Muti Music has already had the honor of working with Stephan Jacobs, very special guest ill-esha, +verb, ChrisB. and Sugarpill on EPs and remixes that all brought new takes on the ‘West Coast Sound’. We are now honored to be sharing music from the rest of the Headtron roster (http://www.headtron.com).

Bassnectar: ”I’ll be playing this one at Bonaroo.”

Love and Light is comprised of the musical talents of Matt Madonna and Ryan Anderson, hailing from the high desert region of the Reno/Tahoe Basin. Creating music that touches their hearts and elevates their souls, the duo’s goal is the uplifting of people across the world through melodic synth lines, complex chord structure, intricate rhythms, and funky, chunky bass lines.
Having a strong basis in midtempo bass music, the span of their production talents are limitless, crossing into the realms of melodic dubstep as well as half-time drum and bass and four-on-the-floor bangers. Whether it is sweaty club, a beautiful outdoor festival setting or enjoying a night at home in the lab, Love and Light music moves humans in a vibrant and deeply conscious way.
The original mix is like being inside a world of playful toy robots and pixelated objects that then go on to teach you a thing or two.
Some of our favorite producers right now the take those sounds to varied heights and other unusual places and through a myriad of contemporary and emerging genres that make this EP a very pleasant listen. We’re stoked that +Verb found his way to us.
“Giant robot laser battles; tender mechanized love-making; the blinking blips and bleeps of artificial intelligence communications: these are the computerized moods that will wash over you in the most calculated of ways.”
+verb (pronounced “Adverb” by humans) is a new blog favorite in the genre of bass. Recently featured on Soundcloud’s “What’s Hot” list for a collaboration with Stephan Jacobs, the world is anxiously preparing for an invasion of his robotic army.
With forthcoming releases on Vermin Street and Simplify Recordings and hot on the heals of his recent EP on Car Crash Set and a stellar remix of Starkey on Civil Music, +Verb now delivers a melodic glitched out chill track ‘Cough’ which then get’s remixed by some of the hottest folks in the ‘glitch’ scene right now.
Los Angeles based producer Stephan Jacobs has been defining his position in the Dubstep and Glitch realms with a particularly strong US west coast take on the genres. Sugarpill is also no newcomer to the realms of Glitch with a recent slamming release ‘Flow Goggles’ out on Mochipets’ Daly City Records as well as doing an official remix of Mochipet - Complex Players Dub for them.
They combine forces on Level Attack to deliver a hard hitting synth driven track that hits hard for a dancefloor. Adding vocalist Naada to the mix is the spice on the pudding, her vocals hit hard with a strong hook and you’ll find yourself believing, “You’re never going to tap that ...” so you may as well keep dancing.
Level Attack includes remixes by some of the top and emerging artists in Dubstep and Glitch, Samples makes an appearance on Muti once again with an absolute slamming dubstep mix, as does Great Scott who throws down just the breaks mix that it needed. Willie Whompa and Goodie offer a deeper take that could give ‘The Glitch Mob’ a good nod, +verb takes it even glitchier and ChrisB closes out with a sound very reminiscent of some Mimosa tunes.
Since their debut on Muti Music, KETHER has toured the US west coast and dominated the Los Angeles underground warehouse and art music scenes.
Their gigs have included rocking the Do Lab stage at Coachella, playing alongside Tipper and Shpongle and lead time slots at Norcal festivals like Stilldream and Priceless.
Their second release, appropriately titled ‘Layer Two’ is a blend of Progressive thinking music with hard urban sounds produces a unique fusion of glitched out beats drawing on influences including Minimal, Progressive House, IDM, Dubstep, Breaks and Glitch Hop and also including many ethereal, organic textures that are both melancholy and very beautiful at the same time.
Kether is made up of two groundbreaking West Coast based producers known as, Ruff Hauser and Stephan Jacobs, who write, breathe, create & produce music. Kether’s music is composed using analog hardware & software, creating an organic-electric live sound scape feel.
Marine Layer now comes out having been tried and tested as a live set and is primed for maximum effect. The music on Marine Layer is a unique fusion of glitched out beats drawing on influences including Minimal, Progressive House, IDM, Dubstep, Breaks and Glitch Hop and also including many organic textures that will please many.
