Pioneering glitch hop producer, remixer, and composer ill.Gates teams up with artists such as Mimosa, Datsik, Ana Sia, Opiuo, Masia One, and more to release The ill.Methodology, an 18-track EDM excursion through the genres of glitch, bass, dubstep, breaks, and hip hop.
The album is also Muti Music’s catalog # 100.

The ill.Methodology corresponds with the artist live production workshop series and ground-breaking Ableton studio and DJ templates, as well as his upcoming ill.Methodology site for DJs and producers in Dec 2011.

After a brief hiatus scoring music for film and advertising Greg Reve (T.O.B.) is back with Decoy, i.e. the bassline equivalent of a 6-pack abdominal workout. Previous support for his tunes has come from the likes of Bassnectar, N-Type, Laurent Garnier, David Starefire, Digital Rust and the “Hot 1 @ 1” spot on Bobby Frictions show on BBCRadio1. This same cast is lining up in support of this new EP along with Dieselboy and they’re eagerly anticipating more.
Greg Reve (T.O.B.) music has also been featured on the infamous Ninja Tunes “Solid-Steel” show on BBCRadio1 and on hit american TV show “Criminal Minds” as 1/3 of Hip-Hop band ‘The Realist’ that also came out on Muti Music in 2010.

ill.Gates is a Toronto-based composer, performer and educator. Over the past 15 years, he has established a global fanbase and a reputation as one of the most dynamic electronic music artists around. He regularly tours across North America, Europe, Australia and Asia. Gates has headlined at such festivals as Burning Man, Shambala, the World Electronic Music Festival and the New Orleans Jazz Festival. 
His first full-length release, Autopirate (Muti Music, 2008), reached #1 on many esteemed charts; and continues to sell strongly. Many of his contemporaries cite Gates (aka The Phat Conductor) as a key artistic influence and inspiration in their music. Acid Crunk Vol 2 started off as a free mixtape that has now been downloaded over 37,000 times. Now, what is Acid Crunk?
It’s a no rules genre bending booty shakin’ synthesis of the dirty dirty that makes that subs in your low rider bump; and it sure goes nicely with that Ice Cream paint job. In the words of Martin Turenne (Straight.com) Acid Crunk “Conjures the druggy textures of early house and the fearsome bass of millennial hip-hop, marrying the West Coast breaks sound with the brooding atmospheres of London’s dubstep scene.”

Acid Crunk Vol. 2 kicks off with An-ten-nae’s own low frequency taser, Bang That, he locks in the dance floor with a deep electro groove and then fires up on all cylinders with a flick of the switch. Next up is Ooah (Glitch Mob & PANTyRAiD) From it’s lush start to its acid tinged convulsing basslines, ‘Foolish Silence’ has devastated every dance floor it’s been dropped on and his live performances have induced pandemonium across the globe,  Most recently he appeared on the soundtrack of Tim Burton’s masterpiece film ‘9’. Datsik has virtually dominated the Beatport dubstep charts for months, and here again proves why he is a new standard in audio excellence. With ‘Southpaw’, Datsik delivers the goods. The other half of PANTyRAiD (aka Marty Party) turns Acid Crunk on its head
with a jackknife of a bass-driven track. Following the current success of the PANTyRAiD album The Sauce, (Marine Parade) Marty ‘s forthcoming album, on the same label, due in January 2010.

From ‘Down Under’, our Australian agent in crunk, Opiou, adds a little funk with his crunk ‘King Prawn’. Look out for his forthcoming EP on Addictech Recordings.

Akira Kiteshi has earned support across the board from the likes of Mixmaster Mike, N-type to Mary Anne Hobbs, with ‘Ulysses’, this Scotland native delivers his own nasty brand of alien funk infused dubstep from the 31st century.

Head south to Bristol and you’ll find Gemmy, one leg of the ‘Purple Trinity’  (with Joker and Guido) His newest offering ‘Bleep’ is some Bristol / Brizzle Bass Crunk guaranteed to turn those head nodders into instant body rockers. For more of his unique brand of crunk, check out his track on Mary Anne Hobbs newest compilation “Planet Mu”.

An-ten-nae returns with a remix of ‘Do You’ by UK supergroup Freeland (feat. Adam Freeland & Tommy Lee on Drums), he dissects the track into a heaving acid tinged monster sure to make all the ladies squeal.

The next 3 tracks showcase emerging talent from the US and Canada. Apox who hails from Nevada, Colorodo’s own Samples and Ill-Esha & Dewey DB (Vancouver) throwing down tasteful and versatile tracks from the ‘Glitch Hop’ school of crunk.

Collaborations often bring out the best in artists, and ‘Pharma Sutra’ is a testament to that and this off beat slammer by Filastine (Barcelona) and Ill.Gates (Toronto) will make your jaws drop.  Don’t say we didn’t warn you.

Chillout maestro Bluetech helps bring things down a bit, journeying into thedeeper shades of crunk with ‘Waiting For Initiation’.Finally, no global journey into emerging electronic genres should be complete without a stop to Berlin,so we leave you with Robot Koch and his off-kilter beauty of a track ‘Hard to Fin’, off his upcoming album Deathstar Droid.

ill.gates is a chameleon amongst producers moving effortlessly between genres and well known for his custom Ableton performance & production templates. His production know-how and willingness to collaborate has led to him working with many accomplished musicians and this time around collaborating with Toronto based Techno producer adamduke and the pair deliver an experimental EP that moves from minimalist tech-house through to dubstep and is as twisted as it is dance friendly and very playful while at it.

adamduke has 9 years in Toronto’s electronic community, both on his own and as half of notorious DJ duo ‘The Dukes’, he’s been billed alongside numerous major international acts like Ellen Allien, Tony Rohr, Carl Craig, Matthew Herbert,  Kevin Saunderson, Joey Beltram, Bassnector,  Afrika Bambaataa and Miss Kitten to name but a few.  This is his debut release and we’re sure we’ll be hearing more from him.

We are honored to have such a quality group of established and emerging artists providing their own take on ‘Irma Vep’, the styles range from Glitch Hop, to deep Dubstep and a few other polyrhythmic versions in between, some feature the vocal and others chose the instrumental route, whatever your preference there should be a version for you.

In the past year, ill.gates (also known as The Phat Conductor), has remixed Si Begg on Noodles, Eprom on Addictech Recordings, Sub Swara on Low Motion Recordings co-produced and remixed DJ Dan with Robb G and released a highly acclaimed artist album ‘Autopirate’.

Masia One is one of the most dynamic women in Hip Hop today, fostering a community of B-Girls and promoting independent Hip Hop in Toronto and abroad, you will be hearing a lot more from her on Muti Music.
Following up on past successes, we got some remixes done by some of the most dynamic emerging talent from Canada and USA in the dubstep and ‘glitch-hop’ scenes providing a good variety of vocal and instrumental mixes, many of which are already seeing huge support. This EP is being released along with a great new video of the original tune.

‘The Earth Bleed EP is deep and brooding and at other times playful, humorous and uplifting. ‘

Dov’s original mix of ‘Earth Bleed’ delves into ever expanding basslines and organic textures at times reminiscent of volcanic fissures and atmospheric rips. One of USA’s pioneers of electronica, namely ‘Single Cell Orchestra’ takes things even deeper ‘into the darkness’ with a remix of squelchy basslines and a steady groove.

Rounding out the remixes of the title track is LayerZ (also known as Audiovoid) delivers a version that is ghostly, haunting and yet helps dig us out of the deep pit of bass with rolling almost melodic basslines. Moving onwards the EP also features a collaboration track with Canadian breaks, dubstep, glitch, techno, electro producer / man of the moment, ill.gates, the track is almost theatrical in nature, with clear dubstep influences, lots of field recording and sound design and also picking up the pace a little and showing much variety in beats and percussion.

The EP is rounded of with an uplifting midtempo breakbeat track that is great for something to round off a night.
