Dubvirus has a way of creating infectious melodic anthems that make people want to bounce as much as they want to let those kness drops and get down low. We are stoked to see press and listener support on the rise with his debut EP just finishing up an exclusive stint on Addictech ( http://www.addictech.com/p/103700 ) and will out everywhere to the world (on Amazon, Beatport, iTunes, eMusic, Spotify etc) on Monday the 23rd July. Here’s some of what folks have had to say so far:
Weather it’s dropping bass that makes the floor drop out from underneath you, leading workshops of The Yoga Of Bass or performing with a large band as Dub Kirtan, FreQ Nasty is always on the mark with something new, intentional and generally ahead of the curve in some way. The new Dread At The Controls Remixed EP features 4 takes on the tunes from leading bass producers from around the world, Culprate & Greg Reve deliver bass pounding dancefloor smashers and LowRIDERz and Sugarpill bring in the hip-hop tempo and distinct US west coast styles, both riding their 808 beats hard. FreQ Nasty recently gave some interviews, picked some tunes and spoke about his music and process, for Beatport and K Mag, read some of it here:

So there is a wave of up and coming producers making their own mark on Glitch Hop with sounds that are specifically tailored around what folks are calling a ‘west coast’ sound. Many of these guys , the artists on the Headtron roster in particular are touring playing original sets of Hip Hop and Jazz inspired beats that are as melodic and pretty as they also have sub driven and bassline driven beats, hence making their own unique imprint on bass music. The Acid Crunk sound has gone global and support on this latest compilation is reflecting it with reviews in German mags Eclat Mag, Ox Mag, Tonspion GmbH as well as Italian mags Chain D.L.K and Wickidstyle and then also in ClubbingSpain. Airplay has expanded to Yugoslavia, UK, Spain, Italy, Germany, Hungary, US, Canada, Falklands, Chile, Brazil, New Zealand and Australia and we are sure that the crunk vibes will spread themselves as they are heard more.
