Klone

- Download This Free Tune - Klone - Throwback

Klone:”As a small child I was blown away by Herbie Hancock’s “Rockit” and have been in love with electronic music every since.”

Our second new signing to Muti Music of 2009 is also our second south US based producer and he’s already receiving comparisons to another southern US based producer , i.e. Bil Bless AKA SOTEG / Disciple Grin .
Klone hails from a southern industrialist city, Birmingham Alabama, named after it’s UK counterpart and providing the ideal environment for urban expressionist music that is both melancholy, post apocalyptic and funky enough to move a dancefloor.

Klone has taken full advantage of this environment producing edgy music with synth leads that are both melancholy and pretty, sitting over tough beats and basslines that growl as much as they whomp and groove.
Following in a tradition of Muti artists who don’t stick to one tempo, Klone supplies four flavors that will fit right in with your 90 - 120 BPM collection.
Klone’s debut EP ‘The Push Effect’ is out on promo and exclusive rounds now and will be available everywhere in June 2009.

Grabbing his first turntables around 1999 being really into  breaks, electro then garage and progressive breaks and then developing a growing love of glitchy breaks and dubstep. Klone also draws on influences from early techno 91′-92′era (Altern 8, Prodigy, Moby, Acen, Eon, KLF, Apotheosis) and BASS driven music like Dynamix II & Magic Mike.

Keep your ears peeled for a lot more from Klone in the near future.

SeventhSwamiAnnouncing a new signing to Muti Music and a new “missionary of music”, Seventh Swami, who delivers a quality range of musical styles from downtempo, trip-hop and dub to midtempo, breakbeat and psychedelic downtempo.
A huge supporter of outdoor music festivals, Swami can frequently be found at your local campout, crashing through the brush with a bottle of wine, shaking squirrels from their trees with bass or trying to perfect the art of corned beef hash on a propane stove…
The sound of his forthcoming album : - ‘Here For Now’ - is stylistically similar to Muti Music artists Mimosa, Heyoka, Knowa KnowOne, Nanda and Timonkey who blend urban influences with chopped up vocals, strong instrumental melodies and oscillating basslines.
Seventh Swami has emerged through performing with San Francisco’s ‘Ambient Mafia’ crew and his style is reflective of US west coast emerging downtempo sounds.

SeventhSwami’s debut album ‘Here For Now’ comes out on Muti Music on 04/20/09

Mimosa

Mimosa has made his mark on the west coast sound and in the past two years has become one of the top west coast exports. This young producers energy while performing is magnetic; the word has spread fast and Mimosa has recently shared the stage with the likes Benga, Skream, Rusko, Datsik, Glitch Mob, ill.gates, Bassnectar and Flying Lotus, playing shows across the US and festivals like Coachella, Symbiosis Gathering, Burning Man and Decibel Festival.

DECEMBER 6TH - 2008 - ill.gates - Autopirate album launch in Toronto Canada.

illgates release party

SENSORIA invites you back to the Augusta House on December 6th for an unforgettable evening promising sensational bass and eye-widening visuals. The night showcases a dual album launch party for Philadelphian grime don Starkey - “Ephemeral Exhibits” (out on Planet µ, Nov. 24th) and Torontonian glitch-and-bass heavy-hitter ill.gates - “Autopirate” (out this fall on Muti Music) with both Dubslingers and Subtrac representing Toronto dubstep in full force.

STARKEY (Planet µ)
“I operate on the fringes of dubstep, like Vex’d, Darkstar and Joker. So much music nowadays lacks melodies, that’s why I stick out I think.”
Starkey is undoubtably Philidelphia’s finest dubstep / grime / bass artist and the latest signing to Planet µ. In the 2008 grime and dubstep arena, Starkey is a gleaming bright anomaly. Whereas so many producers’ default mode is darkness and gloom, Starkey’s music is saturated with upbeat colour, and through melody he harnesses a powerful, alien rave energy seldom heard enough. His latest remarkable beats are definitely going to get you bouncing and we’re excited to have him here in Toronto. Recently, he was featured on BBC Radio One through the Mary Anne Hobbs’ “Bass Generation” show - a huge honour. For a monthly dose, be sure to check out the show he hosts on “Seclusiasis Radio” every 1st monday of the month on SubFM.

ILL.GATES (Muti Music, SF)
ill.gates is not so much an emerging artist as an emerging moniker of an established producer creating a new alias. ill.gates, of Toronto, is also known for his productions as the incredibly popular ‘The Phat Conductor.’ He is one of Canada’s leading underground exports, holding it down since 1995 with gigs as far as Switzerland, U.K., N.Y. and the legendary festivals of Burning Man of Black Rock City in the desert of Nevada and Shambhala Music Festivalal in the rainforests of British Columbia. His wide range of style covers all genres from dubstep / hip hop / glitch hop / electro / techno / breakbeat /dancehall / d’n'b / IDM.

Artist - Subvert

July 7, 2008 | Filed Under Blog Posts, Featured Artists, Free Downloads | No Comments

Introducing Subvert – pK / Muti Music / Rottun Recordings / Shambhala Music Festival.
Subvert Logo

What started out as an introduction and a remix project turned us ‘on’ to one of Canada’s rising stars of bass driven crunky beats in the form of “Subvert’.
His tracks have been doing promo rounds and have made regular appearances in the sets of Bassnectar, Ill Gates (The Phat Conductor) & Dov amongst others.

Subvert hails from Calgary, Alberta and his winding path in music started in 1996. Proof of his dedication to ‘Bass’ is in his track record of creating the world’s loudest competition vehicles, designing pK’s 90,000 watt sound system and managing the Village Stage at Shambhala Music Festival.
He started DJing in 2000 and combined with his extensive work on sound systems and attention to precision sound, he was ultimately & naturally led down the path to creating his own music productions and once again the low frequencies consumed him. Subvert’s sound is a combination of throbbing, relentless basslines, melodic strings and haunting pianos singing through midtempo glitch / acid crunk and dubstep. His attention to detail and the ability to tune into ‘bass that works’ can be felt in all of his music productions, he is an expert in the subsonic, the crowd and the show.

Subvert

The past year has truly seen the emergence of Subvert as a recording artist, with a slew of new releases in the first half of 2008:
‘Subversion’ and ‘No Smokey Ganja’ on Rottun Recordings,
‘Bigtsteppa’ on Punch Out
and a recent remix of the Ill Gates smasher ‘Sweat Shop’ upcoming on Muti Music.
We are stoked to announce the forthcoming ‘Dirt Nap’ EP in addition to the ‘Sweat Shop’ remix coming out on Muti Music, the EP will include the tracks; ‘Size Matters’, ‘Curb Stomper’, ‘Dirt Nap’ and ‘Pump et Up’.
It’s all about the bass…..
You can download Subvert recent promotional mix which includes edits of many of these tracks below.
