We are honored to be invited to showcase some of Muti’s top artists at this years Decibel Festival in Seattle. Tweet this event - Facebook event listing
This is what they has to say about our Muti showcase :
Genres: Breakbeat / Crunk / Dub / Glitch / Hip Hop / IDM / Visual
Description:
Muti Music was born in the hazy land of San Francisco, an area long known for innovative trends in art and technology that provided a perfect setting for the emergence of a new type of experimental bass music that the region is now known for. Since 2002 this fresh and dynamic label has supported and promoted the wide minds of artists both domestic and international, making a distinctive mark on the evolution of West Coast Sound. Tribal futurists have found a home with Muti, which is the Bantu word for ‘tree’ or ‘herbal medicine,’ and all who hear this young record label’s organic and transformative sound will indeed experience a catharsis by crunk.
Heyoka begins your healing journey with his gurgling and grinding strain of psychedelic beats, the bass drenching your body in heady reverb as light cosmic sounds bubble out of your brain and lift you to another plane. Mimosa’s sexy, dub-infused basslines continue the warm expedition through a beautiful, beat-soaked soundscape, slapping you ever so lightly now and again to make sure you haven’t slipped into oblivion. The founder of Muti Music, Dov, pushes through boundaries with an elevated and emotive sound; his diverse and adaptive style marks the experience of this San Francisco mainstay. Finally an-ten-nae puts the crunchy cherry on top with his slick blend of broken beats, freaky funk and twists from tomorrow, completing your dosage of music as medicine.
Warning: This medicine has been found to be highly addictive and can lead to spastic convulsions, particularly on the dance floor, often resulting in ecstatic joy and a feeling of complete freedom.

‘The Earth Bleed EP is deep and brooding and at other times playful, humorous and uplifting. ‘
Dov’s original mix of ‘Earth Bleed’ delves into ever expanding basslines and organic textures at times reminiscent of volcanic fissures and atmospheric rips. One of USA’s pioneers of electronica, namely ‘Single Cell Orchestra’ takes things even deeper ‘into the darkness’ with a remix of squelchy basslines and a steady groove. Rounding out the remixes of the title track is LayerZ (also known as Audiovoid) delivers a version that is ghostly, haunting and yet helps dig us out of the deep pit of bass with rolling almost melodic basslines. Moving onwards the EP also features a collaboration track with Canadian breaks, dubstep, glitch, techno, electro producer / man of the moment, ill.gates, the track is almost theatrical in nature, with clear dubstep influences, lots of field recording and sound design and also picking up the pace a little and showing much variety in beats and percussion. The EP is rounded of with an uplifting midtempo breakbeat track that is great for something to round off a night.
Dov is known as a genre pusher, from importing-exporting and selling some of the first ‘Nubreaks’, ‘Dubstep’ & ‘Glitch Hop’ to / from USA and throwing San Francisco’s first dedicated ‘breaks’ weekly in the nineties, to selecting and releasing music for multiple labels including his own, namely ‘Muti Music’. Recently producing dubstep remixes for Sub Swara on Low Motion Recordings and experimental / glitch remixes of Posthuman and Welder on Myuzyk and Cyberset Music respectively, Dov now emerges from the shadows with an EP of dubstep and midtempo breaks that is a journey of intense emotions.

Muti Music is excited to announce the new signing of a very accomplished producer, Triplet Of Belville (T.O.B) .
T.O.B is French-born Composer & Studio Owner Grégory Reveret,
His musical career started at a very young age, having learned the Clarinet and Piano for several years, he then evolved and applied his musical knowledge into electronic music, where his passion lies. With a style that can only be compared to his own and an ever-evolving “hybrid” attitude to his musical direction, T.O.B is set to make huge waves with his epic sound.
T.O.B also composes for the advertising and visual-media industry, having done music composition for TV Networks such as PBS international, ESPN, MTV and even composed the soundtrack to a hit Animation series which was flighted in 13 countries worldwide.
His diverse production and musical style keeps him up to date on all current trends in the ever evolving musical and visual environments.
“I never limit my musical style to anything, it’s important to always keep an open mind about
new things and analyze what it is that makes peoples emotions ‘tick’, when hearing a musi-
cal piece. I strive to push boundaries as far as I can when I write a piece of music, to give it life, depth & emotion. Finding balance where it can be technically pure as well as emotionally charged, this is what I hope to achieve every time I write a musical piece” T.O.B is also producer for the Hip-Hop trio “The Realist” where he is constantly forming and creating new sounds and formulas for his Bowl-Wrenching basslines and crisp, attitude-filled production.
Watch this space, T.O.B is here to stay and is going to create some serious dancefloor carnage!

Siren
Live drums, heavy synths, groove and energy are the foundation that Brandon Hale AKA Siren builds on. Hailing from Oregon and now settled in San Francisco, Siren is another new west coast find that has been making his distinctive mark on midtempo breakbeats and dubstep.
With a background of metal influences and playing piano, saxaphone, drums in punk, ska and metal bands, Siren brings both melody and unforgiving edge to his productions. Already making headway with touring the ‘bass’ scenes of the US west. His forthcoming release on Muti Music ‘Spawn’ is clearly the first of many releases to come.
Expect bass that hits you in the gut, raw and pounding lead riffs and some epic instrumental accompaniments, truly made for ‘large’ environments or the most urban of cellars.

As a special gift and introduction to Klone :
- Download This Free Tune - Klone - Throwback
Klone:”As a small child I was blown away by Herbie Hancock’s “Rockit” and have been in love with electronic music every since.”
Our second new signing to Muti Music of 2009 is also our second south US based producer and he’s already receiving comparisons to another southern US based producer , i.e. Bil Bless AKA SOTEG / Disciple Grin .
Klone hails from a southern industrialist city, Birmingham Alabama, named after it’s UK counterpart and providing the ideal environment for urban expressionist music that is both melancholy, post apocalyptic and funky enough to move a dancefloor.
Klone has taken full advantage of this environment producing edgy music with synth leads that are both melancholy and pretty, sitting over tough beats and basslines that growl as much as they whomp and groove.
Following in a tradition of Muti artists who don’t stick to one tempo, Klone supplies four flavors that will fit right in with your 90 - 120 BPM collection.
Klone’s debut EP ‘The Push Effect’ is out on promo and exclusive rounds now and will be available everywhere in June 2009.
Grabbing his first turntables around 1999 being really into breaks, electro then garage and progressive breaks and then developing a growing love of glitchy breaks and dubstep. Klone also draws on influences from early techno 91′-92′era (Altern 8, Prodigy, Moby, Acen, Eon, KLF, Apotheosis) and BASS driven music like Dynamix II & Magic Mike.
Keep your ears peeled for a lot more from Klone in the near future.
