May 5, 2008 | Filed Under Featured Artists | No Comments

Ill Gates‘Ill Gates’ is not so much an emerging artist as an emerging moniker of an established producer creating a new alias.
Known for his production as ‘The Phat Conductor’ with releases on 2 Wars & A Revolution, Whomp, Promo, Dubble Sided Vinyl and also Venom records, ‘Ill Gates’ is otherwise Dylan Lane from Toronto Canada.

Dylan is one of Canada’s leading underground exports, holding it down since 1995 with gigs as far as Switzerland, the U.K, Burning Man, NY and the legendary Shambhala Music Festival in the rainforests on British Columbia. His diverse style covers all genres from Electro House, Techno, Breakbeat, Hip-Hop, Dancehall, DnB & IDM/Glitch. No matter what the venue, Dylan can suit his style to the crowd and keep the dancefloor rocking.

Recent collaborations and remixes under his two guises include a remix for Si Begg on Noodles, remixing the globe trotting Myagi and heavy hitting breaks and four to the floor tracks with Robb G on Promo Records . All these have been receiving high acclaim from established press.

Undecided

Undecided, otherwise known as Chris Shelton, was captivated by the scene in early 1998 and since then has been cultivating his own style of funky, hard-hitting breaks referred to as that nu-funk sound. In 2002, Undecided formed Urban-Breaks, a crew responsible for hosting multiple monthly and weekly breaks events in the Sacramento and surrounding area. With the success of these events, he decided to further explore his passion behind the turntables and relocate to Seattle in early 2004. In Seattle his rising popularity was aided by close relationships that were quickly built with well-known local break-beat artists. Relocation also allowed Urban-Breaks the ability to add even more talented DJs to the roster and produce more shows. Continue reading Artists - Undecided…

Timonkey

Timonkey (aka Tim Donlou)
Equally at home hanging from a tree branch or bouncing off concrete, Santa Cruz’s Timonkey (Tim Donlou) fuses organic and synthetic elements together in order to bridge the worlds of nature and technology:
Timonkey says, “Branching patterns, mineral lattices, geological timescapes - the living earth is as much an influence on my music as King Tubby, Bernie Worrell, or Steve Reich ever were.”
From its roots in dub, funk and ambient music, Timonkey’s sound has been evolving further into the synthetic realms of midtempo glitch. Continue reading Artists - Timonkey…

Future Funk Squad (aka. Glen Nicholls) During his development into a versatile DJ / Producer, Glen Nicholls (the mastermind behind Future Funk Squad) absorbed the best in electronic pop culture as a youth. In the early Nineties he immersed himself into the sounds of Autechre, NIN, Global Communication and the electronica label Warp.
