Blog - Emerging Artist Heyoka
March 15, 2008 | Filed Under Blog Posts |Heyoka AKA Andrei Olenev is another cosmic audio waveform manipulator who recently delighted us at Muti Music with his auditory explorations. While reading, you may want to check out some of his forthcoming tunes on Muti on our ‘Player’ on the top menu bar.
We found him floating in the Bay Area noosphere after being called to our attention by another emerging talent in San Francisco and a bar night called ‘Beat Church’ where he has shredded a few dance - floor - boards in the past few months. His epic wobbly basslines were something that we just could not pass up on Muti Music and his beats have proven effectiveness ‘on the floor’. Check out some of his forthcoming tunes on Muti on our ‘Player’ on the top menu bar.
Heyoka uses Ableton Live and Native Instruments to compose bassdriven mid-tempo excursions, showing influences from leftfield / IDM and downtempo music, along with the aesthetic of dubstep, the tempo of glitch-hop and epic compositional pieces consisting of mostly bass.
His truly unique flavor has been gaining the attention of San Francisco bar & club promoters and his beats have been doing their rounds on the decks, we are excited to hear what the future holds for Heyoka.

I just bought his album and I think it’s just wonderful. Thank you so much for this contribution to the world of music. It will not be forgotten.

Found Heyoka listening to the Indyfeed Electronic Music Podcast. Enjoying it so far.
Booking information?
You do know the album is significantly cheaper at iTunes? Of course then you have to deal with the pesky DRM, but whatever!
Peace,
M@

The best way to contact Heyoka for booking is through his Myspace page http://www.myspace.com/andreism or for Muti Music label nights contact bookings@mutimusic.com
Regarding buying the tunes, thanks for supporting our artists regardless where you by it, we thank you.
The iTunes Plus tunes are only 256 k MP3 and also have DRM and many DJs will not play anything below 320k MP3, the EP on our Addictech site is 320K DRM free tracks and also offers FLAC or WAV resolutions, but then eMusic, Napster etc are 128 VBR Mp3 for a subscription model of buying music, so it all basically depends on where you prefer to buy your music and where you’re going to be playing it.
All the best
