“There is a place that exists in your mind… a temporary autonomous zone where music, dance, and the life experience become one… where you and everyone around you become one living, breathing, singular entity… Where your mind begins to kindle neurotransmitters, created by the alchemy of your brain eons ago… calling to the ancient tribal ritual of transformative dance as you are guided by the hypnotic music of the techno-shaman leading the party. This is the realm of the SeventhSwami… Your spirit-guide through the archaic revival… bringing you a fusion of techno, breakbeat, and downtempo, with psychedelic overtones inspired by the unifying vibe found at nor-cal outdoor psytrance parties. His mission: To help raise more people’s awareness through the sacred trance-dance experience. His purpose: To turn human-doings into human-beings, if not just for a moment…” - Seventh Swami - taken from http://in-tune.blogspot.com/2005/12/in-tune-seventh-swami.html

Response:

“What an Awesome Album! Some really fresh musicality going on behind the top class glitches & Mangling. This is probably my favourite Muti release so far, & considering the other artists on the Label that in itself is saying something:) keep up the great work & respects to the Seventh Swami!” - Seb Taylor (Hibernation / Digitalis / Kaya Project etc….)

‘Muti further solidifies their reputation as a prime west coast outlet for downtempo electronics with this tight release. ‘tornado dreams’ and ‘forever you forever me’ are highlights, with their digitized focus and IDM aesthetic. thanks for sending…” -  SHEN / Noah Pred (Native State/GSC)

“Some interesting textures and vocal message. Nice work.” - Adam Shaikh (Interchill / sonicturtle)

“LOVE the vibe on this .. It will appear in next weeks show The chill out room on BFBS radio(WK 15) 12 th April many thanks for the download.. nice ambient feel and feel god vibe love it..” - HUMF - www.bfbs.com/chill

“Heavy, will be droppin.” - Matt B (Bass Science, Tokyo)

“very cool ,as always! :D ” Nick @ Interchill

” hey Muti =) another awesome release! will do my best to promote here in the UK.” Giani @ Future Music / Luminopolis

“Many artists on the solid Muti Music label are quite genre specific. Typically, they are Tipper style breaks producers who make Tipper style breaks, for better or worse. That makes the debut full-length from new signee Seventh Swami that much more awesome. His mastery of form through such a variety of unique soundscapes is truly impressive, utilizing the best of atmospheric breaks, electronic hip-hop, and warped downtempo without appearing to stretch. Bits of traditional Japanese instrumentation occasionally floats up through the digital distortion and perfectly tweaked samples. The whole thing is still a hair shy of the upper level where Tipper and edIT live, but its very, very close. He’s one more illusion destroying mushroom experience and another album away from greatness.” - Pop Matters Blog

“I loved the album, an intelligent mix of glitch, hip-hop and dubstep with conscious lyrics on a few tracks and explorations into new territory of musicality.” - Delvin (Somnia Records)

“solid album, well produced very lush.” Justin Reed

SeventhSwamiAnnouncing a new signing to Muti Music and a new “missionary of music”, Seventh Swami, who delivers a quality range of musical styles from downtempo, trip-hop and dub to midtempo, breakbeat and psychedelic downtempo.
A huge supporter of outdoor music festivals, Swami can frequently be found at your local campout, crashing through the brush with a bottle of wine, shaking squirrels from their trees with bass or trying to perfect the art of corned beef hash on a propane stove…
The sound of his forthcoming album : - ‘Here For Now’ - is stylistically similar to Muti Music artists Mimosa, Heyoka, Knowa KnowOne, Nanda and Timonkey who blend urban influences with chopped up vocals, strong instrumental melodies and oscillating basslines.
Seventh Swami has emerged through performing with San Francisco’s ‘Ambient Mafia’ crew and his style is reflective of US west coast emerging downtempo sounds.

SeventhSwami’s debut album ‘Here For Now’ comes out on Muti Music on 04/20/09
