Press / Praise for this release:
XLR8R Muti001 ReviewXLR8R magazine: “Kemek The Dope Computer…relies heavily on a crunchy but clean analog affinity for pregnant b-lines, precise breaks and retro technologies. For Muti Musics’ debut release, Kemek hits with a dirty bi-polar journey into dementia complete with classic rave stabs in ‘Angel Dust’ paired with the divinely swelling but spacious acidy float of “Room To Breathe”. Timonkey

Timonkey (aka Tim Donlou)
Equally at home hanging from a tree branch or bouncing off concrete, Santa Cruz’s Timonkey (Tim Donlou) fuses organic and synthetic elements together in order to bridge the worlds of nature and technology:
Timonkey says, “Branching patterns, mineral lattices, geological timescapes - the living earth is as much an influence on my music as King Tubby, Bernie Worrell, or Steve Reich ever were.”
From its roots in dub, funk and ambient music, Timonkey’s sound has been evolving further into the synthetic realms of midtempo glitch. Continue reading Artists - Timonkey…

FFSFuture Funk Squad
Future Funk Squad (aka. Glen Nicholls) During his development into a versatile DJ / Producer, Glen Nicholls (the mastermind behind Future Funk Squad) absorbed the best in electronic pop culture as a youth. At age 10 he made his first foray into emulating his idols such as Depeche Mode and Erasure by playing his own songs on the piano. In the early Nineties he immersed himself into the sounds of Autechre, NIN, Global Communication and the electronica label Warp. But it was after witnessing the monumental live shows of the Prodigy that the blistering producer in him was awoken. Continue reading Artists - Future Funk Squad…

Kemek

Kemek The Dope Computer
Kemek The Dope Computer has been making music for a long time. A long time. His first record, an acid house EP recorded as the 303 Terrorists with Thad Jones (now known as drum n bass producer/DJ Hak) was released back in 1993. Prior to that, Kemek had a number of musical projects, from industrial to dance, but none were all that successful. Actually, none were successful at all.
It wasn’t until Kemek and Hak hooked up with San Francisco label Silent Records that things began to take off. A number of singles and albums were released under a variety of names (the aforementioned 303 Terrorists, DTS, and Deeper Than Space being the most prominent). As Deeper Than Space, his ambient solo project, he was able to explore the more drone-based side of music as well as play a number of live gigs. Kemek and Hak paired up again in 1997 to record “Dark Victory” under the name Gundam for XLR8R Records’ “Bad Breaks” compilation. The track was one of the first tech step drum and bass tracks released in the United States. Continue reading Artists - Kemek The Dope Computer…

Artists - Atomic Hooligan

Atomic Hooligan is Matt Welch and Terry Ryan a.k.a. Atomic Hooligan.
The standard setting and boundary pushing DJ and producer duo have long hit the breaks world firmly between the eyes with quality 12” after 12”, but now is the time for that next level leap. YOU ARE HERE, their debut album, exemplifies everything that is fresh about the Hooligans themselves and the figurative musical high rise block that they inhabit.

Their music is always informed by the ever more popular breaks movement, but never pinned down by it. Proof of this can be found on YOU ARE HERE, and in their 9 piece live band show that has already rocked FABRIC LIVE, CARGO and the OCEAN ROOMS in Brighton, with future dates at all the major Festivals including Glastonbury in the summer.
